Cancelling, and getting your money back.
A refund policy is a promise about the worst day of the relationship, so this one avoids the words that make those days longer. Cancel when you like. Seven days to change your mind.

Clause 01
The short version
- Cancel whenever you like. You keep the plan until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- Seven days to change your mind. A first subscription payment is refunded in full within seven days, as long as you have barely used it — the exact line is in clause 3.
- A failed render costs you nothing. The credits go back automatically, with no ticket to raise.
- Nothing is auto-renewed quietly. A subscription renews on its own date, and cancelling before that date stops it.
There is also a free plan with no card attached, which is the honest way to find out whether the product works for you before any of this matters.
Clause 02
Cancelling a subscription
Cancel from the billing portal, reachable from your account screen. It takes effect at the end of the current period: the plan keeps working, the credits you already have stay spendable, and no further payment is taken.
When the period ends the account drops to Free. The watermark comes back, the allowance becomes the free one, and your existing videos are untouched — subject to the retention window that now applies, which is the Free one. Download anything you still want.
Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel first — a plan that is still renewing will block the deletion, precisely so nobody is charged for an account they thought was gone.
Clause 03
Refunds on a subscription
Within seven days of your first payment
If Shunry turns out not to be what you needed, we refund your first subscription payment in full, provided both of these hold:
- you ask within 7 days of that payment; and
- you have spent no more than 20%of that period’s credit allowance.
The second condition is what keeps the first one honest: a month of finished, downloaded videos is not a trial, and the credits behind them were spent on real rendering that was really paid for.
After that
Renewal payments and periods already under way are not refunded, and part of a month is not refunded pro rata. Cancelling stops the next payment rather than reversing the last one.
Two exceptions, and both are ours to honour rather than yours to argue: if the service was substantially unavailable for a sustained part of your billing period, or we close your paid account for a reason that is not your fault, we refund the unused part of the period.
Clause 04
Credit top-ups
A top-up is a one-off purchase of credits rather than a subscription, so it is treated differently.
- Unspent within 7 days: refunded in full, on request.
- Partly spent: we refund the unspent balance at the rate you paid, within the same 7 days.
- Spent, or older than 7 days: not refundable. Purchased credits never expire, so they keep their value indefinitely — they simply do not turn back into money.
Clause 05
Renders that fail
A render that fails on our side is refunded to your credit balance automatically. You do not have to notice it, ask for it, or prove it.
A render that succeeds but that you dislike is not a failure — the panel is generated from what you said, and re-planning or editing the beats is how that gets fixed. If a render is technically broken — corrupt file, missing audio, panels that never appear — send us the video id at [email protected] and we will put the credits back by hand.
Clause 06
Upgrading and downgrading
Upgrading replaces your plan immediately and charges the new one immediately. The unspent credits from the plan you were paying for come with you.
The days you had already paid for on the old plan are not refunded. That is the one part of the upgrade nobody enjoys, so the app says it before it takes you to payment rather than after.
Moving to a smaller plan is a cancellation followed by a new subscription, done in the billing portal, and it takes effect at the end of the period you are in.
Clause 07
What is not refunded
- Credits already spent on a render that was delivered.
- The remainder of a period after you cancel mid-month.
- An account closed for breaking the terms on prohibited content or the fair-use clause.
- Taxes already remitted to an authority, where the law does not allow them back.
- Dissatisfaction with a generated result that rendered correctly — see clause 5.
Clause 08
How to ask, and how long it takes
Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with:
- the email address on the account;
- the payment reference or order id from the receipt our payment provider sent you;
- one line on what went wrong. It genuinely helps.
We reply within 3 business days and decide within 7 business days. An approved refund is issued through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, to the original payment method — it usually appears within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank, and that final leg is not something either of us can hurry.
Clause 09
Chargebacks
If something looks wrong on your statement, please write to us before you raise a chargeback with your bank. A chargeback freezes the account while it is investigated and takes weeks, where an email usually takes a day. If a charge really was unauthorised, say so and we will refund it without an argument.
Clause 10
Your rights under the law
This policy is in addition to your statutory rights, not instead of them. Nothing here limits what the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 gives you as a consumer in India, or the equivalent protections where you live, including any statutory right of withdrawal that applies to digital services in the EU or the UK.
